AKSG Organises Statewide Crusade, Declares Friday Half Work Day

The Akwa Ibom government has declared Friday, May 24, 2019, a half workday for all public service employees in the state.
Gov Udom Emmanuel gave the directive during the May edition of the Government House prayer session, which took place at Latter House Chapel, Governor's Lodge, Uyo, Saturday.
Emmanuel said that the directive was to enable the participation of the state personnel at the planned one day state-wide crusade, calling on the head of the civil service to ensure that there was due compliance by all the public service senior and junior employees across the various ministries, departments and agencies.
He stated that the crusade would afford the state administration to not only appreciate the involvement of God in the affairs of the state, but also facilitate others in knowing about the power of God, adding that it would further be an avenue of showcasing Akwa Ibom as a state named after God.
Emmanuel remarked that the crusade would be open to all Christian families irrespective of Christian denomination and doctrines, calling on Christian families to invite as many persons as possible to the event.
A release from the Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly (ACA) indicated that the one-day statewide crusade with the theme: "The Earth Is the Lord's," is expected to take place at Uyo Township Stadium by 4pm.
Some of the ministers expected at the event are: Dr Uma Ukpai, Rev Ntia Ntia, Dr Paul Enenche, Bishop Francis Oke, as well as Bishop Emmah Isong.
The release also indicated that the event would feature the rededication of the soul of the state to God, while four gospel music ministers would partake in the crusade, namely: Esther Edoho, Nathaniel Bassey, Freke Umoh and Buchi Atuonwu.
